ACCOUNTANTS MAKE THEIR OWN SPACE

Gold Coast Bulletin
26 October 2007
By Shannon Willoughby, business reporter

Jenan Thorn, Saber Group DIrector is eager to use MySpace and Facebook to network with their clients.

Jenan  has setup an end-to-end financial services, accounting, and taxation firm, Saber Group.

The company launched last week, then acquired Surfers Paradise based BC Accountants.

Before embarking on her own business, Mrs Thorne, who is married to former Canterbury Bulldogs and Gold Coast Seagulls player Robin Thorne, was an accountant for Searle Accountancy, owned by Titans' CEO Michael Searle.

Her clients included many of the Titans players.

"We are an end-to-end company that provides financial solutions, accountants, business development and marketing."

Mrs Thorne said they planned to keep clients up to date via Web 2.0, a network that reaches web-based communities MySpace and Facebook.

"People don't have time to sit down and read newsletters and brochures. They want to read these things through a more convenient medium," she said.

"That's why we are going to have private online networks, using MySpace and Facebook.

"We are going to reach out to another generation which a lot of firms don't.

"We want to see our clients' businesses grow too."

Saber Group has taken up residency in the second Southport Central Tower.
